Xiaoyang Wan, Ph.D.
Dr Wan obtained his doctor degree in genetics at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011, where his established genetic model of hepatocarcinoma and characterized leukemic gene for hematopoiesis.
He completed postdoctoral research fellowship at University of Chicago and then at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor from Nov 2011 to Oct 2015. His research was centered on genetic cause of glomerular disease and podocyte injury.
At April 2016, Dr Wan joined Institute of Infectious Disease at Tongji Hospital. His research has contributed to first-author publications on Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology, Scientific Reports, Journal of Biological Chemistry, and PLoS One. His major focus of interest is to understand how innate immunity defends against viral/bacteria infection.
